I started designing custom homes in Humboldt County in 1972. For 15 years I designed buildings and worked on their construction. Since 1990 I've concentrated strictly on design. I've designed structures using many kinds of standard and alternative construction methods: stud construction, post and beam, reinforced concrete, insulated concrete forms, strawbale, rammmed earth, etc. I'm comfortable with any architectural style from Classical to Modern, but most well known for hillside designs, Craftsman style and insulated concrete forms (ICF). In Humboldt County I mostly worked on new rural homes and homesteads. Now that I'm in the Bay Area I'm more involved in remodels and additions.
